1953 Case DC-3 - odd valves - help identify?

Hi All,

So on the DC3 I picked up I have been looking at other pics of DC tractors and I havent come across any with the same valves this one has.

I have tried loading pics, but it just sits there and they never load, so will do my best to describe.

One the carburetor side, there is one valve on the intake pipe.

And also on the side, there is a double valve coming from the engine side connected into the lower block.

Never seen something like this before so hoping someone can identify and tell me the purpose?

goodness ,, looks like sumthin Ben Franklin would dream up with Tesla and Edison ,,The valveon the intake could furnish vacuum to run a milk machine if the electric was down ,Or , Anything requiring vacuum .The other on the block would be handy to drain the block if you are not certain of your antifreeze

The one on the block is the block drain for coolant

just as olgent says. what about a pic of the other side to see what u got going on there, as i presume this is the one you cant get running.

The petcock on the intake manifold is without a doubt to provide vacuum for milking machines, usually during a power outage. We had one on the H Farmall and on the 49 Chev pickup.
Since that location is above the throttle plate, insure that there is no vacuum leak there. That would affect your idle mixture. The H would idle funny when the milkers were first hung on the cow and the stall clock was opened.
The other valve on the block is a bit more elaborate than what would be needed to just drain the block. Perhaps it had something to do with a tank-type engine heater for cold weather starts?
