1954 chev bed

i need to shorten a long bed to a short bed. can someone tell me how much to cut out and where to take it out? thanks, clifford.

not sure how much to cut off, but it will need to be removed from the front to keep the wheel well opening centered around the wheel.

that is what i was thinking. wonder if anyone would know the difference in length between short bed and long bed? thanks, cliff.

This is from a '51 but the boxes should be the same size just the top edge is different shape, short box--79 3/4" long box--88 5/8"
