It would be easier to leave it alone. There needs to be more discussion with the owner before I do this. I understand why he wants it changed over because everything else he deals with is 12v. I just don't want it to look hacked when done.

Any good generator shop can reconfigure the 6v generator to 12v. You will need a different voltage regulator of course. Other than that (and accommodations for coil and lights) everything bolts right in.
