2006 T2420 Power Steering Motor help

Havent posted in awhile but was a regular visitor on the 9N/2N site.
I need some help and someone to help steer me in the right direction. I am having a hard time finding a site that is knowledgeable about the 2006-2008 T Series. My power steering motor is leaking very bad inside the cab on the steering column.

Im sure the seals have worn but I dont want to pay 900.00-1,500.00 for a new pump . For the life of me I have spent hours searching for a website or a seal kit. This is my last resort and I know this may not be the right site, but perhaps someone can help me figure out who to contact. FNH website is not helpful as well as parts sites.

Any help is appreciated if someone has been down this road. - Murray

The online CNHi parts book for the T2420 (2007-2009) shows a seal kit. Here is a link to the page for the control motor.

Thank you. I may not understand these diagrams but they show the PS pump but not the PS hydraulic motor at the base of the steering column. The kits are for the pump. This is where I can t get the sakes techs to understandunless I am wrong and not getting it.

I am fairly certain I gave you the link to the control unit under the steering column. Please look at the info again.

First this page. Item key # 1 is the control unit I believe you are asking about. Check the part number for the complete unit.

Now the page I posted for you before. Item Key #1 is the same assembly part number. This drawing and list is the parts breakdown for it. Item 23 is a seal kit for that assembly. Is that not what you are looking for?

In the first drawing the steering column and wheel mount above item Key # 1. They just didn't put it there in the drawing.

THANKS for the clarification and reposting. This was a tremendous help.

I ordered the seal kit. My gosh! 4 - O rings and a seal came to $203.00. Beggars can t be choosy. If it s not the correct seal kit at pick up next week - I ll revisit this.

I need to acquaint myself with a parts manual.

Again, thanks to all who helped me better understand this and narrow down my search. I like the T2420. But at 18 years old it s wearing down in some places.

Nearing the place where I need to decide to keep and spend money to maintain- or sell/trade in for a newer tractor. It s been good to me for the most part.

Thank you again. -Murray

Ok. So I am posting this for other t2420 owners. The Messicks and CNH exploded parts diagrams are not correct for this tractor. I ordered the seal kit Part 23, paid $230.00, opened the bag and the seals are too big. This kit is not for this PS valve. CNH will not refund me and take the kit back. It was a 230.00 dead end. I took the valve/motor 2.5 hours south of here to a CNH vendor and the Tech also used these same diagrams.

For those who will have a leaking PS motor- it is unavailable and no longer produced. It is a Char Lynn Series 5 square mount PS control valve / motor that was manufactured by Eaton. The Number is 291-1028-002.

Not sure what to do, now that is apart, Leaks like a sieve all over the floor and a line of drips down the road and the tractor sits with the dash pulled apart, clutch pedal removed, and steering column on the floor.

Any advice is appreciated.
