1957 600 series tractor

the three point takes quite a while to raise, when it is cold to an average temp. like under70 degrees. When it is a hot day the three point will raise instantly when first started. Have any ideas?

What kind of fluid do you have in the hydraulic reservoir? If you have the recommended UTF that meets Ford spec 134D it should work nearly instantaneously. Some people still put 80 or 90W gear oil as used in the N series in their Hundred series and then wonder why the lift doesn't work.

My 841 has done that for years. Ya I should probably change the fluid but it has always worked so I have not done so. Depending on what fluid you have it can be normal or it can be a problem. UTF or hy-tran and changing the fluid may help

I didn't know Hy-tran met the 134 spec. I don't believe I'd be putting that stuff in my old Ford tractor! Shoot! I don't even use it in my red stuff! I want something better in them too.

Thank you for the info. I don't know what the last guy was using,but I will start by changeing the oil. What seems to help is using a hex wrench,and unloosening a plug on top of the pump. untill it lifts. This however waste oil. My theory was maybe it was taking on air,and the small bubbles were air coming out as I did this, but maybe the small bubbles were a norm for the oil to do this. Les
