1962 Allis Chalmers H3

Hello,
Is a H3 crawler a good piece for a hobby farm use?

Would 6,000 hours be excessive for that type of machine?

The sprockets, and rollers have been welded to build them up. Believe the track will require some work.

What would it be worth?

Thanks,

They show up for sale fairly often in my area of New York. Lots of ACs in this dairy-farming area incuding H3s, HD3s, H4s, HD4s, HD5s, HD6s, and HD7s. In good running condition - the H3s usually go for $3500 with a straight-blade, and $4000-$6000 if a six-way blade.

There's an HD3 with a 6 way blade for sale in today's paper and the guy is asking $6500. I consider that high unless it's in perfect condition. Here's the ad that claimes "excellent condition":

Allis Chalmers HD3, diesel, w/angle blade, EC, $6500 South New Berlin, ny (607) 783-2787

H3 AC are nice little tractors but thats to much money if the tracks need work. If you deside to buy that tractor I have some parts for it.
