1963 Ford 2000

I recently aquired a non running 1963 Ford 2000 4 cyl. I got the tractor running fine but when working on the mess of a wiring harness I accidently dropped the small in line fuse for the fuel gauge. I could not find the little devil as it is only about 1/2 inch long. No the question. What size fuse is it. I have found no reference to the amp rating of the fuse

I'm not sure if a '63 2000 is 6V or 12V...

The fuse is usually just for the lights and if your tractor is equipped with headlights they are generally 30 watts each => 60W / 6V = 10 amps. more if you also have a tail light or work light.

If 12V system then the current is half. A 10A 3AG (1/4" dia) glass fuse should be fine. If you get a short, the 10A fuse will blow quickly. Make sure the wire in the light circuit is heavy enough.-Will

The poster is speaking of the fuse for the fuel gauge.

Though I cannot recall precisely, the fuel gauge fuse is low current, probably 1 - 2 amps.

es, as the later 3 cyl 2000 used a 3 amp to power gen & oil warning lamps plus temperature & fuel gauges........so I would say adequate for your old 2000's fuel gauge.
