I am getting diesel fuel into my crankcase. I found a leak on the return line under the valve cover and repaired it but fuel is still finding its way to the oil. How can one tell if the pump is leaking into the oil pan? Also there is a seal of some sort where the return line goes into the head does anyone know where to find one or the part #?

Might check to see if the stand pipe in the tank has broken off. Fuel will bleed into the crankcase through the return line going from the tank to the head also. Mine gave me fits for a month before I figgered it out.

I had the same problem on my 861, made several repairs and still leaked. I finally pulled the return line tube and replaced the seal in the cyl. head, problem solved. I purchased the seal at my New Holland dealer, looks like a small chunk of vacuum hose.

Thanks! I will see if I can get a seal from my dealer. Its hard to tell if there is a leak where that seal is because oil splashes on that area with the engine running.

How does the fuel get back to the crankcase if the stand tube is missing? It does seem to happen fairly quickly if the fuel tank is full.
