It looks to me like you have an early 68 with the wrap around grill.
They changed to the new flatter style in April of 68.
Your upper grill is incorrect. It is for the new style.
The older ones are just a flat screen made of steel.
This is a different tractor than yours but the grills are identical.

It would be helpful if you told us what model tractor it is. At first glance from your pictures it looks to me like it is an early (made between 1965 and 3/31/1968) 2000, 3000 or 4000 model. The changed the sheet metal and grill style on all of those models on 4/1/1968, so that is why I can tell that it is an earlier one made before that date.

I zoomed way in on the pictures and it does look like the decal says 2000, but it is so faded that I can't tell for sure. Also, folks have used incorrect decals over the years on some tractors when repainting, so the decal isn't 100% proof of what it is.

Also, you don't say whether you're looking for the lower grill that wraps around the sides, or the upper grill with the FORD letters on it, or both.

If you're looking for the lower grill, then we would also need to know whether it has the headlights in the grill or the headlights out to the sides, as your pictures don't show enough for us to tell.

Or are you actually looking for the sheet metal nose cone (radiator shell) that the upper and lower grill attach to, as that is the piece in your pictures that looks to be in the worst shape, but that is not aluminum, it is steel, so probably not.

If it is truly an early 2000 then these would be the part numbers:

Upper grill - Original part number C5NN8A163A which has been superseded by part number 87701659.

Lower grill with inset headlights - Original part number C5NN8202AD which has been superseded by part number 81815484

Lower grill without the inset headlights -C5NN8202AA which has not been superseded by a newer part number.

All 3 of those part numbers appear to be no longer available new from New Holland.

The upper grill and the lower one without the inset headlights do appear to be available by aftermarket third party companies and if you buy one from one of those companies then it's a crap shoot as to whether it will fit.

I got the right lower part I just can't seem to find the upper
aluminum part that's just like the picture all the ones I can find
are for the newer style

(quoted from post at 11:14:20 05/06/16) The 87701659 part number is not the right upper grill my mounting
holes are different

As i said, the original pars are no longer available from the manufacturer or the owner of the Ford tractor legacy, which is New Holland, so any parts you are finding with that part number are third party after market parts that may or may not be compatible with the original parts. Try searching on the original part number, C5NN8A163A not the one that it was superseded by.

Also, as Ultradog has said, the upper grill that's on there now doesn't look correct. It should have a mesh pattern that matches the lower grill, rather than being flat aluminum with holes in it. It looks like the grill that's on there is the one that they used from 4/68 through 1/71, after they switched from the wraparound lower grill to the inset one, and before they switched to the plastic upper grill.

(quoted from post at 09:41:21 05/06/16) Here's a pic I found on line of the same one I need but I can't
find the replacement for the top part

My 67 5000 has the upper grill like the one in the picture and after reading this thread I went out to the shop to see if it was correct or not. I had the grill out doing some work on the steering and upon close inspection I found where someone prior had bent the mounting tabs back and drilled new holes to mount the later model grill.
Someone probably did the same thing to yours and that's why the new one wont fit. Get a flat grill and rebend the tabs if you want the correct grill in your tractor.

Thanks I went and took my 4000 apart and looked at it and turns
out my 5000 tabs were just cut off there was 4 rusted spots where
they were supposed to be

I talked to my brother how was a parts manager for our local Ford / NH dealer from the 80's till 2010. He said the grill you have and the one in my 5000 are the correct grills. Ford had three different grills for the thousand series tractors, early flat painted grill 65-66, aluminum upper grill for wrap around lower 67-68 and aluminum upper for flat lower 69-74. The newer model upper sticks down lower than the 67-68 does and wont fit, also newer model doesn't have the bars across it like your grill
No one makes or reproduces the grill like we have that I know of.
