OK, sometimes there is a hesitation going into gear, both forward or reverse randomly. The other day I went to move it and it would go into reverse, but not forward, issue resolved itself after a few minutes.
Things I have done: Last trans oil / filter change I power flushed the trans through the 1/2" pipe plug on the bottom of the shuttle and out the trans drain hole with kerosene thinking maybe the pickup screen was gunked up, all came out clean. (Old oil looked good too)
Replaced the shift linkage under the fuel tank with all new ball joints. (Was real sloppy, someone had ground the shift lever slots longer to compensate)
Today I installed an electronic pressure gauge to the test port with the gauge taped to the steering column so I can watch it while working.
Started it, oil cold (maybe 70 degrees) at 2000 RPM the gauge reads just under 140psi, in gear it drops to 120, but climbs back up to near 140 when throttled up with brakes locked.
I don't use the machine much, it's a home TBL that I mostly use to move dirt, or with a brush rake on the bucket, occasionally do some trenching, or dig up and push down trees, but the shuttle acts weird both hot and cold, at random times. I can work it all day and not have any problems, other times it has long hesitations going into gear all day. Looks like I can access most the shuttle valving with the fuel tank removed, which is a PIA to get to the tank bolts, don't want to split it if I don't have to. I've read all the posts from people and their troubles with the power shuttle and ask for suggestions or ideas of what else to do. I've had this machine for 10 years and the problems have not gotten any worse, just hate waiting, wondering when it will act up. I'll know more when I work it long enough to get the oil hot.
