First, I always have to thank those of you that take the time to answer us poor novices' questions on here. There is an old saying, "I wish I knew half of what you all have forgotten."
That being said, I come here again seeking help/advice. Several weeks ago, I posed this question regarding a leak on my new-to-me 4050:

It was indicated that this leak isn't a major issue, but will require a split to fix. My first question is this: Will I do major damage to the tractor if I continue to use the PTO with this leak going on? Frankly, the cost and hassle of splitting the tractor to fix this issue weighs pretty heavy against the mild inconvenience this leak presents. However, if continued use could cause me thousands of more dollars in damage, then I may reconsider my position.
My second question is related to attaching a loader: I have an opportunity to buy a 280 loader with joystick and mounting bracket. I've been told the 280 didn't usually appear on the 4050, but that it would bolt right up without a problem. My question is: would a 280 be "too big" for the 4050, in terms of making it too bulky/unwieldy? I'm used to doing loader work with our 2550, and I know that the 4050 won't be as agile as the shorter utility tractor for loader work--I would mainly be interested in feeding hay with it in the winter (the SoundGard on the 4050 is *much* nicer in cold weather than the heat houser on the 2550) and having it as a back up if the 2550 goes down for repairs (which happened this past summer right in the middle of hay season--one of the main reasons I convinced my wife we needed another tractor in the first place).
I do have to occasionally do some minor dirt moving, so the "beefier" 280 would be appealing from that angle.
