Took me 2 days to find this after loseing tail lights dash lights and running lights.

Electrical problems are usually difficult to trace, especially with the modern automotive. Glad you found it before it caused major problems.

Headlight switch and multifunction switch on the steering column caused a number of those pickups to go up in smoke
Pull the lower column panel off and check the plug on the multifunction switch
The switch controls turn signals, wipers and cruise control
