First off I want to thank everyone who responded to my post. I sure got a lot of valuable help and information, as I said before I've been lurking on the Yesterday's Tractor website for quite some time and I think the people here on the Case Forum are the most helpful. Ron The tractor data page has interesting info. I wonder how many of the 5,985 500's that were built are still around and working. Richard G, it turns out your right about the pulley from an LA working on a 500 I talked Don at Rusty Acres this morning and he has a couple that could be made to fit. He also has the aftermarket battery trays and covers I was asking about. Planning on a road trip in the near future, I would not have known about him except for you folks. It was nice to hear the paint color of the 500 is Flambeau Red Tractor Tucker, that will blend in nicely with my Persian Orange AC's (LOL). Power steering on the 500's must have been an option because I don't have that on mine. Whenever I got an Allis-Chalmers to fix up I would name it after the previous owner, I have a Danny, a Louie, a Marvy etc. When I got this 500 it was settled in the dirt parked behind a building, both tires on one side were completely flat and she looked like she was about to lean against the wall so I thought I'd name her Ilene. So far Ilene has gotten different rear rims and tires, injection pump rebuilt, and the water trap on the fuel tank re soldered on, that's just the start there's a lot of little projects I need to do in order to get her as close to original as I can and I sure do appreciate the help that's available here. Loren,
Thanks for the update. We are lucky to have Don L for parts and accessories. He also has some really great machines, well worth a visit. Please post some pics of your progress, we're looking forward to seeing it run again. I don't think you'll find a smoother running diesel engine. Don

Thanks for confirming my memory about the LA pulley fitting the 500.
I used small hydraulic hose for the rubber pieces that went on the pulley holder.
Richard

This 630 western is for sale in central Iowa. Been overhauled, all tin work is there.
