2 Bottom plow adjustment.

Extend the 3rd link.
Extending the top link to flatten out is a good way to help regulate depth. However too much will force the plow to ride on it's heels and not penetrate. It is a combination of depth adjustment on control quadrant, draft control set, getting the plow set level, both side to side, and front to back.Shares in good shape are critical. Too much wear(where they resemble a sled runner) and it will not penetrate. Or in soft ground 'dull' can cause uneven depth(the plow tries to go up and down....). A plow with shares in good shape will penetrate easily and maintain more constant depth.A properly set plow does not need a depth gageing wheel.

Even with perfect adjustments, top link at correct length, draft control in draft position, you need to plow with 1 hand on the hydraulic lever, raising and lowering (maybe minutely, maybe a little more) to keep the plow at proper depth. I have done a LOT of plowing with an 8n (Jubilee's little brother) and that is exactly how it's done. Have fun, Mark.
