2 Cyl Crank Repair

Our 730D had the left main bearing spin in the housing. I guess we need to weld up that crank journal, and then turn all the mains down .002.

Anyone have a machine shop they'd recommend that can handle such a job, preferably in the midwest? I heard about a good shop in Spencer, Iowa, as well as in Denver.

I had worn splines on a crankshaft that Mike Williams from Clinton, IA fixed for me, and very reasonable. I'm sure you can locate him from a scan on the gathering of the green as he gave a presentation there. If not let me know and I'll get it to you.

If you're anywhere close to Spencer, Arnold Motors is a good place to take it. They do a bunch of two cylinder machining and crank welding. Jim
