I have a 930 with a bad motor and bought a 1030 with a bad tranny. I thought we would swap out the good motor and put it in the 930. My B I L who works in my shop decided we would just split it by the clutch and put the 2 good halves together and take the 2 bad halves and put them together as well so we can atleast roll that one around. He is a genius. LOL

We recently did the exact same swap except with a 970 and 1070. Both were freebies saved from scrapper. We will end up with one really nice tractor.

Hello Bill,

That just might just be the cheapest way to get a running tractor, with the cost of parts being so high. Post some pics. Don

I agree with Don, with the high cost of parts putting two together will get you a strong tractor and a easy rolling parts machine

Oh I love when things come together, as we did the same thing, we had a 1170 on a loader around the dealership and motor went bad, we had a 1270 with a bad transmission, wala! Ran for years. Sold it on our dealership retirement auction, still running

Hope this works out, I do know the "1030" was longer then the "930" Keep us posted.

I did the same with a 930 and 1030 but the 1030 had a recently rebuilt transmission but bad engine and the 930 had transmission issues. Sold the defective halves to a dismantling yard for more than I paid for 1030! The 930 is still going strong. Talk about a cheap fix, that was it.
