20 ft. ID test

Ok tell me this... what model Ferguson is this and how can you tell? Kudos for the 1st right answer.

There are two minute but tell tail signs and two more obvious features that point to which side of the pond this one came from....

I C 3 things. The carb is way down from the manifold, the side of the tranny looks like square corners, and there looks like a diff lock pedal in back there. TO-20-85 ? Like Cariboo's only with low exhaust?
 
OK my turn TEA20 it has a long sweeping air intake pipe,manifold is for the standard engine. To many red and green tractors & the caddy to be any were but here in the U.S.
 
Tony is correct except for the diff lock. TEA-20 a3 brake pedals. one on each side towards the back which are individual wheel brakes and a pedal forward on the right which activates both brakes.

TEA-20s came with the low exhaust as in the picture but many, including myself re-routed the exhaust vertically do avoid setting fire to hay or dry grass.

After looking at photo a few times i just noticed the hood dog legs are one piece making that a TE as well.
 
has to be a te series if the wheels are factory in the front. to series used the fatter tires in front not the 19 inch skinnies.
 
Tony and Trac7... For correctly calling it a TEA-20

The items that ID it in the TE Family are

1) Solid Dog legs
2) Framed Grill sections.. TO's are stamped so you do not see the thicker edges around the grills.
3) The seat holes. There are more on the TE series.
and one I did not focus on but was called out... the back end of the transmission case at the diffy case has the cast bosses no just a pipe plug.


The give away to the model are:

1) The mounting of the carb. The standard motor has a manifold with an intake extension that mounts the carb lower and not up under the manifold. As ID's by Tony
2) The longer lower swooping air intake tube needed because of the carb position. ID'd by Trac7.
3) The valve cover breather re-circulation tube that is seen coming over the manifold.

Thought this would be fun and help at the next show you go to on what to key in on as you walk up to the display.

I am not sure how to tell a -80mm from an -85mm from a distance.. or up close for that matter (with out a SN) This one is an -85mm as it was a late model Diff. casting date was 24-2-4 Feb, 24th, 1952.

I am not aware of a British/US difference in the 19" wheels...

That is not to say there isn't one... Just I am not aware of one. Would like to learn more if there is.

I do know that on the rear wheels the Disks can be solid like the Ford's instead of scalloped as is standard on the TO-20's/30's.

This picture is taken in the N. Hemisphere and so it of the other left side.... LOL.

Or is that upside down. :-)
 
Did not get back in time. What I was going to say is the sloping air intake to the dash, what appears to be a Lucas generator and the fact that it looks the same as mine.
 
Trac7, There are red and green tractors over this side of the pond also, make me sick!
