2000 Identification

These questions are always interesting.
This tractor is my Basildon built Ford 2000 diesel with an 8 speed, two stage clutch.
Serial number B-054818
Production Code 6K4C
Built in 1966 before the model number specs were changed. If it had been built in 1968 or later then the model code would be B1012C but since it's a 1966 this code is not stamped as such.

SO my question for all is what does K76 represent?

Something else very interesting is the factory horn next to the air cleaner in front of the radiator.

I have that horn on my 66 3000. Do you have the 3 position light switch also?

There were a few weird numbers on the early tractors due to production staff
getting used to the new tractor. I would suspect that you have the gearbox
assembly date of the 6th October 1966 then above the seriaL number the
tractor assembly date October 7th 1966.

If I remember right wasn't horn standard equipment for tractors In EU?? Some days feeding I wish mine had one... the cows just look at me and glare when I rev it up to get em to move...

The horn still works!
Also, Majorman you could be right. Notice the flat where the stampings are has been milled off and (maybe) restamped before the factory paint was applied.

Check the same flat spot on the left side to see if the model number might be stamped there. I have seen a few early European tractors that had them there. If you say that it would be B1012C if it was made after 4/1/1968, then the pre-4/1/68 model number should be 21012C.

On the left transmission flat is stamped C7008A which jives with a transmission production code.
I'm thinking Majorman probably nailed it.
