Require some schooling. The remote lock for my truck works occasionally. Have two of these remote lock/unlock. What /where is this item located inside the truck? Some day's works perfect other times when cold won't operate at all. Thanks for any advice. Murray

Sometimes on my 2000 Silverado I have to hold the button down for several seconds before I hear the locks click.

Don't know if they're the same as an 05.

If you split the remote like you would to change the batteries. Remove the circuit board from the the rubber buttons and clean the contacts with a rag. They get real dirty and black. I have had to do it to mine a few times

Whaatt? If that doesn't work does the next step you try involve a tinfoil hat? Lol. Is that simply a way to warm up the remote/ battery or is that also a warm weather remedy? Any explanation of how that makes the remote function better?

The fillings in your teeth act as an antennae booster.

I've found putting the remote transmitter in your mouth as if it were a pistol and it increases the range. TDF

On my 2003,the remote itself was worn out.The buttons would not make contact, and I bought another remote housing at Autozone. They have the tester right near near the checkout counter, and you can test it there. We changed mine over right there and tested it in the store before I went back out to my truck.Mark
