One of my front wheel lug nuts is round so I cut off the lug nut and wheel stud to remove the wheel. I have new wheel studs, but how do I get the brake hub off? At this point I am operating with 3 wheel studs. Someone suggested hooking piece of log chain to the remaining studs and "snapping" the chain. Kaw makes a special tool, but I don't have one! Time to put the aggressive winter tires on and I would like 4 wheel studs.

Go to YouTube and search “Kawasaki brake drum removal”. There are several videos that should be of help. Never forget YouTube.

You need to remove the axle nut first.

If you're lucky the brake drum will come off without a puller.

If you need a puller. You can get by sometimes using a two jaw puller if you have factory rims. Install the tire loose enough to place the jaws of the puller into the slots on the rim and tighten the puller bolt against the center of the axle.

Hub puller or a slide hammer comes in handy if the hub is seized to the axle.

Use a good anti-seize on the hub splines when reassembling.
