2010 Hydraulic pump question

im about to replace the hydraulic pump on a 1960 John Deere 2010... it appears i can pull this pump out through the bottom of the bell housing when i take the inspection cover off. can anyone tell me if this is correct rather than splitting the tractor in order to be able to pull it? any help much appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, they come out the bottom. Several (3, IIRC) through-bolts in the pump are longer and pass through the pump and anchor it to the clutch housing.

Unthread the correct bolts, and work the pump forward a bit, and it will drop out the bottom of the clutch housing.

IF the tractor has power steering, the power steering line must be disconnected from the top of the pump FIRST, IIRC though an access hole in the upper RH side of the clutch housing.

First off I'm no expert. That being said here is the short version to remove the pump. 1) Drain oil from transmission. 2)Remove the pump disconnect on the Rt side of the housing. 3) Throw a 1" strap down the round hole on the rt side of the case , go under the pump body up over the top of the drive line and back out the hole. Have some one hold the strap ends to hold up pump when you take out the last bolt.. it gets real heavy. 4) Now here's the trick.. remove the 3 bolts that hold the pump to the front transmission cover completely before you try to drop the pump out of the case. With the bolts out it will just come out.. remember to install in the reverse order as U took it out. Be sure the 2 small "O" rings remain in place on the back side of the pump as you put it back in.
