2010 part

Looking for a hook bolt for the linkage from carburetor to governor on a 2010. the part number is T18821. any help in finding a salvage yard to check or any source would be appreciated. call Steve at 309-945-7126

That part would be very simple to fabricate if you can't find one.

Is your old rod worn/damaged or missing?

I think it has been replaced with a wrong part a long time ago. When doing a tune up I tried to adjust it according to the book but it won't turn in as far as it is supposed to. I'm thinking about shortening the rod but am not sure just how long it is supposed to be. Thought maybe I could find one somewhere but it is not looking like that is going to happen. Thanks

The bottom line is that the carburetor throttle lever needs to hit it's ''wide open stop'' JUST BEFORE the lever on the governor reaches the end of it's travel in the ''wide open'' direction.

If the available adjustment of the linkage won't accommodate this, either the rod is incorrect or governor parts are worn, bent, or damaged.

Have you been into the governor and checked the condition of the thrust bearing, fork, the ''fingers'' on the weights, and the condition/wear of the weights and pivot pins?

If the governor is in good condition, simply modify the rod to allow for correct adjustment as I wrote of earlier and it should work correctly.
