2013 Community Antique pulling rules

Under Farm Stock rules, does 13b mean not less than 14 inches from the end of the pto and not less than 34 inches from the center of the axle for the hitch point on a M? It says the hitch point must be 14 inches and 34 inches. Just wondered if the word minimum was left out.

I think they did that because the early Ms had a short PTO and 14" behind it was a lot closer than 34". Also on an early farmall M everything from the PTO to lights and even the starter were optional equipment so you can actually strip them down and still call them "stock". I planned on going to Dodgeville but it got canceled. I plan on being in Browntown... maybe I"ll see you there.

I think you are right. My question is can I have my hitch point 15 inches or 16 inches behind the end of the pto shaft? The rule says 14 inches not a minimum of 14 inches.

yes the 15 or 16 will be fine as like LarryM stated the early PTO is the reasoning for the 14/34 rule i would suspect that you are running a stock drawbar with a clevis that would put you at that 15" or 16" range that is normally what we see in club pulls however there are a few that have shortened them up to 14" hook points.if you have any other questions please let me know. also there was the change to a more actual farm tractor 16" height to make the stock drawbar and clevis setup more competitive for the tractors that are still used to farm with.
