2016 JD 4052 Belt Replacement

Neighbor has one and asked me to help him install a new fan belt he says is for his AC....he's a doctor so I will be doing it for him....but that's ok. Most tractors have one belt that drives the compressor, alternator, PS pump, and water pump. You loosen the alternator, install the new belt and that's that? Is the 4052 any different?

It appears there were separate belts on at least some of the various 4025s. (I see 6 different 4052 parts catalogs on the JD site for the North American versions.) I suggest taking a look at his tractor ahead of time to see what you are in for.

Well the neighbor came over this morning and the repair was a walk in the park. JD split the belt drive off the crankshaft with 2 shevs, one operating everything but the AC and the other the AC. Neat design as if you have the non cab version, the only difference in that area is a couple of pulleys and brackets. Other thing, like was the case here, was that the AC belt had trashed out but the other belt running everything else was intact. With that design, other than minimum adaptations to the cab or no cab versions, if the AC belt fails the engine remains cooled.....that was my concern and the first thing I did when they drove over here was to check the block fluid output and well within reason. Nice engineering job JD.
