I replaced the steering shaft on my 202 last fall because the old one broke and all the balls fell out of the block. I'm not sure if it is normal but I seem to have a lot of slop in the steering. Probably about 6-8 inches. Its not a big deal around the yard but I took it down the road to a neighbor's place last weekend to move some snow for him and it had a heck of a time keeping it straight on the road.
All the linkages in the front end seem tight, I'm wondering if it may be a worn sector gear or if this amount of play is normal.
Oh, also the tractor originally had power steering but the cylinders have been removed. All the other parts are still there. Don't know if this has any bearing on it.
