What taper is the hole for the steering cylinder ball joint? I need to fill in the hole and
ream it out to fit.

Thanks

I don't know the taper pitch. I doubt mine are in good enough shape to measure. Which hole is wallowing? The arm or the one in the axle? Wengers shows the arm. Google search the part number.

Another option: Contact AGCO, and see if they can send you a drawing of the arm.

The arm. If I can get a reamer of the proper pitch I will drill out the old hole and make a plug to weld in with the proper tapered hole.

Thanks

A couple ideas if someone doesn't have the info you are looking for.
Measure up the stud that goes in the hole and calculate it. Best if you have a new ball joint to measure, however the old one will be close. Or pop a tight one out and check it. It is most likely they used the same taper.

Stan,

I'm guessing you tried to link the arm you found at Wengers in your last post. It looks like the YT filters are blocking the link in Classic and the whole post in Modern, as they are a competitor to All States Ag Parts and YT.

Right- 183010M1 or 189798M1
Left- 183011M1 or 189799M1

Google the 189 numbers they are $100 ea.

If I have time when I get home, I'll measure mine.

To answer your question:
Minor: 0.546
Major: 0.620
Length: 0.636
I have between 3.264 and 3.616 degrees. Average is 3.58 or 7.15 degrees inclusive. 1 1/2 per 12. I'm confident enough I would order tooling.

Found a reamer. Mechanic friend had a set of ball joint reamers and one was the right one.
Thanks to all who responded.
