No, I never took one off of one of them but if it's as bad as an Allis Chalmers D-17,you have my sympathy. LOL
 
Removal of the steering wheel is necessary. There are bolts hidden up under the dash and all around. You need to be part contortionist and have a good set of sockets and wrenches with flexible adapters etc.
It's a pain in the butt but it's easier than trying to replace gauges without removing it. Make sure you do everything you want to do with your gauges and electrical before re-assembly and test everything a few times because if you do it once you won't want to do it again!
There's nothing fancy and no tricks you just have to find all the nuts and bolts.
You don't have my sympathy as I have done it on my 202.........but I will wish you good luck and hope that all the busted knuckles heal quickly!
