2040 3 point lift

I have a 2040 non power shift or shuttle shift tractor that the 3 point lift feels like it is locked at the raised position. I have removed the top of the lift from the tractor and the lift arms will still not go to the down position. All the levers move and seem to be in the right spot. Does anyone know what I should be looking for. Nothing appears to be broken or bent.
Thanks

Did you trouble-shoot with a service manual? Your 3-point arms lowering oil is trapped. Nothing appears to be broken or bent? I agree with TX Jim.

I have the exact same issue. Were you able to determine the cause? I even removed the rate of drop screw completely. I'm thinking its either an issue with the cylinder lowering valve, or the cylinder piston is seized.

I've had both a 2240 and a 2520 do the same thing - three point raised while I was using it and wouldn't go down. In both cases I checked my shop manual and followed the instructions to adjust the three point. I think there were two or three items to adjust on the 2240. The 2520 I do remember has a plug in the rear axle that you remove and inside is a 9/16 (as I remember) bolt that required adjustment (just had to be sure the socket was taped or welded to the extension so as not to lose it in the rear end. There is nothing to take apart. Just follow the instructions. I like to try the easy things first.

Thanks for the info. I ended up purchasing the service manual. A lot of good information in there. I believe I found what you were referring to with the adjustment. I will look into that more. For trouble shooting 3 point arms that won't lower, the two options it gave were the rate of drop screw, or the adjustment linkage being broken. Time to tell the wife I need to buy a bore scope :D
