I got to put a new fan belt on the 2166 .What is the easiest way to replace.Do you need to remove the top sheetmetal that covers the motor.

I have a 2388 and never had to replace yet, I did on my 1680 when I had it and did in the field. I looked some on my 2388 and has more shields but I think what I looked at with out having to do is remove shields from inside the motor bay and thread belt around fan and loosen alternator and should go on but like I said never done it yet and I believe having a second person on the other side would be a plus. If its the serpentine belt, you can slip the belt between the fan and shroud, then you need to take the AC belt off the compressor and slide the new belt into place, a 1/2" socket handle is used to back the belt tensioner off and the belt is slipped into place and the AC belt is replaced. Actually not a bad job, I replaced the one on my 2366 yesterday.
