2240 (early SN) Neutral Start Switch

The neutral start safety switch on our 2240 (SN 260625CD) is acting up. I'll often need to wiggle the left lever to get the starter to spin/engage. Looking at the Deere parts website, there seems to be two options...

RE38390 for $90.22 Listed as the original
A-RE38390 for $39.61 Listed as an alternative

Anyone have any experience with these two options?

Before purchasing a switch remove original switch if more than 1 sealing washer is present then remove 1 or more sealing washers then reinstall switch. Now attempt starting engine.

First part # is JD part # & 2nd part # with "A prefix" is A&I part #. A&I is an aftermarket parts company JD purchased several years ago.
