This past Summer I bought a 230 baler, for sale in the local area and priced close to scrap value. My original intent was to keep some pieces for spares and part the rest. After looking into it more thoroughly and freeing up the machine, I may keep it for a second complete baler. The problem the previous owner had was that it went out of time and broke the needles. After he repaired the needles it broke them again, and that's where he reached his limit. I'm pretty sure my nephew can re-weld the needles for it, so I have worked on timing the plunger and knotter drive. The only reference point I have found in the owners manual is that it specifies the stop block must retract about 1 1/2 before the plunger on its compression stroke. I have it set to do that now, but is there any other timing reference to use when installing the knotter drive chain?
