240 hydraulics oil

What type of weight or oil do I put in a 240 hydraulic system? I have a set of disks on wheels I used with my M Farmall & want to use it with the 240----I know I need to put another hose for the return & drain the line and cylinder for the 240--Any help?

Hytran is what is supposed to be in there. It is probably not what is in the M. It will work in both, but if just used and allowed to mix with engine oil in the M it will not be proper, and may be too thick. Jim

Hydraulic transmission oil meeting IH, CaseIH, or John Deere specification is available in many stores (probably NAPA and Big Box Stores)
CaseIH sells Hytran fluid at the dealership, but I would call first to price it and compare. Sit while discussing this on the phone. Jim
