240D Clutch Replacement Problem

I just finished replacing the clutch, pressure plate and Throw-out bearing on my Yanmar 240D. Everything when back together smoothly. But after reconnecting the two halves of the tractor, I could not get the clutch to disengage. And when I depress the clutch pedal there is no resistance. It seems as though the throw-out bearng is not contacting the pressure plate at all. I event disconnected the clutch pedal linkage in order to get max travel on the throw out bearing. Any suggestions? thank you

The yoke is moving the TO bearing. I split the ractor again to check that and the forks are pushing the TO bearing forward anf both springs are connected to the yoke. I have replaced a lot of clutches on tractors and I have never experienced this. It just seems like the TO bearing and yoke are too far back in the bell housing. I am going to remove the yoke again and check it to see if I screwed something up during install. Thanks

We have seen a few cases where the roll pin on the fork was sheared and the fork was able to slip on the shaft. Might check that too. What was happening with your old clutch?

The clutch disk facing was completely worn on the pressure plate side and gouged the disk. Good point about the roll pin on the fork. I saw that when I removed the yoke. I checked it to see if it moved on the pedal shaft and it seemed firm, but could have sheared and rotated slightly.
In the meantime, I re-installed the new clutch and pressure plate, and I adjusted the pedal travel linkage all the way out. I was able to get contact with the pressure plate but still can't get the clutch to release.

Is it possible to install the clutch disc backwards? Several people have asked which way you turn it on these forums. Long end of hub goes rearward. Probably not the case, just putting something out there for thought.

Did you ever figure this one out? I have the same problem after replacing the clutch on my 1401D. I strongly suspect the pin on the yoke has sheared, but it don't want to split it again unless I've exhausted all other possible options. Thanks

I'm having this exact issue with my YM2010D. Did anyone determine the cause of the clutch not extending far enough to press into the pressure plate?

In your support ticket you mentioned you bought the tractor with a stuck clutch and then you replaced the clutch & throw out bearing but not pressure plate. Is there any chance the previous owner already had it apart and used the wrong pressure plate?
