Hello All,

I have a yanmar 240D the front wheel drive stopped working I hopped underneath to see what i could find and it would seem as if im missing a piece or something has gone horribly wrong looking at the manual it looks like all the pieces that should be there are but it also looks like the two components are too short to connect. When lifted off the ground both tires spin as expected not individually. Im at a lost and could use some help images provided in the link

Thank you,

Bryan

Thank you! As far as I can see the only piece im missing is the ball-bearings but it still seems too short by like 1/4 inch

Your spring looks fully compressed. It should push things further forward. If you will note in the attached thread the girlandhtertractor's spring is much more relaxed when in the loaded position. Maybe pictures on page 2.

I don't suppose anything amiss causing your front axle to move forward a tad?

That spring should not stay compressed like that. It should be pushing that coupler off the end of the shaft. The coupler is spring loaded in order to maintain tension against those balls. Are you able to slide that coupler off the shaft (should slide off easily) If not, the splines on the end of the shaft likely got damaged and is keeping that coupler held back.
