245 front weight bracket

I am looking for a front weight bracket for my 245. A wrecker has a 255 that looks to have the bracket. Would one off a 255 fit on a 245?

Thanks,

Short answer is I don"t know. Have both a 245 and 255. I"m pretty sure the front axle support on the 255 is different and much heavier than the 245. The problem is that the 245 bolster(axle support) is recessed from the front end and the "bumper" mount is sticking out too far from the two bolts that hold it to hold much weight. You might be able to cobble something that would work but it probably wouldn"t be anything close to what the 255 has. Front wheel weights?? Never seen them but I think they do exist...somewhere. I do have old wheel weights on the bumper of the 255 but the 245 bumper won"t hold that much weight without bending because of the aforementioned mounting. Haven"t needed front weights on the 245 but need them on the 255. Your mileage may vary.

Without some fabrication the 255 weight bracket will not fit the 245. The 245 had 3 different front axles and 3 different axle suppport assemblys. There was the standard, vinyard, narrow orchard, and orchard model. I have one of each. The orchard model has a very substantial front axle, axle support assembly and spindles. The axle support assembly is similar to the 255, and is easy to make a weight bracket for. The other models aren't so easy. Jim from Chimacum

Here's some info you might be able to use. The part number for the weight bracket on the MF245 standard model is 10229A91. The part number for the orchard model is 10183A91. I don't know what part of the country your in, but Farmland Tracter in Tangent, Or. may be able to help you out. Jim from Chimacum.
