2510 rockshft cover.

The inside square cast iron rockshaft cover is broken in several pieces. Does anyone know what caused this? Two of the retaining bolts had the heads completely blown off.

i have seen this take place on more than one small john deere tractor when driving at high road speed and then when the tractor makes a swerve or quick turn the three point
hitch arms get caught on the lugs of the rear tire and are forced upward very aggressively causing severe damage. i am just suggesting what could of happened, will be
interested to hear what others have to say??
sounds like an expensive repair.

Tool mounted on 3 point,was backing up ,tool went
over n obstruction and busted it? Just a

I have seen this on 3020/3020/4230/4430's..I have thought it to be a surge in return pressure,,I don't think the rockshaft arm can hit it...but still a bit of a Mystery to me too...
