I was brush hogging with my 2510 today and it ran real close the to the red on the temperature guage. It did not overflow the radiator and it ran fine, but I don't want to burn up the engine. Does a 2510 have a thermostat; if so what is the temperature setting? New guage or sending unit maybe? Any help is appreciated.

Thermostat yes. Should run around 185. Run it till hot and put a thermometer in it (beware of pressure under the radiator cap) & check temp. If overly hot a new T-stat may be needed. If not hot, a new gauge.

It does have a thermostat. But check your radiator for trash buildup,if all the foam seals are gone from around the radiator and side screens they tend to suck in alot of seeds, grass clippings,and fuzzy material.

Oohh Yes,,the radiator is probably 'packed' tight,,I have been had a bunch of them in here this summer with plugged radiators and condensers,it takes a "lot" of blowing to work all the seeds and dust out of them,,a "stand Back and quick blow out"is not good enough. The seeds get sucked into the core fins, then swell up tight...
