2520 Load / Depth

Plowed for the first time with the 2520 today and in "D", the plow would change depth a little on it"s own. In "L / D" the three point goes from all the way down to all the way up moving the three point lever only about third of the way back. In fact, you can only pull it about a third of the way back. I can"t find anything in my shop manual about this. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry for the three posts (darn computer). I also have a 4020 that is used on the same plow (no gauge wheel). In "D" it holds at a constant depth. In "L / D" it will vary in depth depending on the load and terrain. The 2520 however, varies in the "D" position and "L/D" had the plow out of the ground. When I got home, I did some experimenting and in "D" with the plow down, pulling the lever all the way back will bring it to the fully raised position. In "L / D" with the plow down, you can only pull the lever about a third of the way back and at that point the plow is fully raised. The manual goes into detail about how the three positions function but not how to correct. I"m wondering if the load & depth control lever may have rotated on the shaft going into the transmission. Would that cause this problem or are there some other ways to adjust?

Ferd, It might be a case of a simple adjustment of the rockshaft internal hydraulics linkages, arms and levers is required. A Deere technical service/repair manual will tell you how to do it. Best to stick with the genuine Deere publications, they are more comprehensive than the I&T manuals. There is a few listed on US ebay at this time. Keep us informed how you get on with it.
