2520 loadshaft leaking

I have been having problems fixing the leak on my loadshaft. Put in new seals and new shaft...still leaks. So I have now put in new bushings in the transmission housing and was wondering if I need to put in new bushings in the front drawbar support, (the ones the load shaft slides through). I've also put in the new bushing at the front of this support.

The bushing that I'm talking about replacing is part #R41088. Mine has some wear....the Inside Diameter is supposed to be 1.035 and mine are 1.065 and 1.075.

I'm also planning to maybe put a little sharper end on the loadshaft so that it might start through the seals a little easier. Do most of you just use jd hyd oil to wet the shaft or is ther something better?

Thanks for any help!

Hy-Gard oil is a fine lubricant for shaft. Did you shim side play from between trans case & drawbar support? Did you use OEM or Bolings bushings?

Yes, I did use shims for the side play and I did use some aftermarket bushings with o-rings in the middle..

Go on Ebay and there is a seller from IN that has a much better seal than the original. It is a Deere seal off a newer tractor that he has made a holder for. If you replace the side bushing you are talking about be aware that they are tapered and need to be installed the way they are removed. On a high hour tractor with lots of three point use I do sometimes replace those.tom
