I have a 2590 that will not move in 2nd and 3rd powershift.
Checked some pressures and found that in 1st c1 and c2
pressures are 185 psi. in 2nd c1 and c3 pressures is 100psi.
In 3rd c2 and c3 pressures are 100psi. Clutch down c4 185psi
and reverse c2 and c4 pressures 185psi. Appears problem is
with c3 clutch or circuit is leaking. Is c3 clutch bad a common
problem or can it be leaking somewhere else?

Thanks

C-3 leakage is not real common but is a real possibility. The most common thing I have seen is C-3 pilot spool sticking and then that causes disc to drag which heats the
piston and damages the piston and seals resulting in a leak. Check the pilot spools if you find a burnt clutch pack. Other problems could be plastic feed tubes for the PS
can leak, damaged sealing rings on C-2,C-3 hub or loose bolts or broken bolts which is uncommon on a 2590. Rod.

manual for 70 series says that pilot valves open to release oil thru circuit. do they act as gates essentially depending upon which pst 1 2 3 r you are in ? could you explain purpose of pilot valves & how to clean & a sticky one. thanks

Just a suggestion before you split the tractor check the pickup tube behind the spool valve stack on the right side of the tractor.
I have a 25 that did the same thing and all that had happened was it rubbed a hole in the tube. Worth looking at before you tear it apart. The tube is in the trans behind the cover plate.

What do you mean by pickup tube are you talking about the
tube from the valve to the c-3 clutch or something else?

Can anyone tell me which tube goes to the c-3 clutch as I have pulled the valve to check the tube and orings.
Thanks
