2600 steering wheel removal

Hello all,

Need to get the steering wheel off. I see the nut on top of the shaft. Normal thread or reversed? I assume I have to throw a bar in the steering wheel to keep it from spinning so I can get that nut off?? Have no idea and dont want to do something erroneous. Thanks!

The nut is not the problem. Regular threads, we use an impact and spin it right off. You are just getting started. Depending on the condition of the splines on the shaft and how much rust is on them, you may need a puller or you may have to cut it off and install a new one. BTDT many times.

Steering wheel is worn old on the 6600 I recently purchased, new steering wheel is ordered
I’ll probably split the old one with a side grinder and cutoff wheel like I did on the 5600 last year
