261 Massey Knocking

I have a Massey 261 that knocks when the clutch is not engaged, once you press the clutch the knocking goes away. What might be wrong? Tractor belonged to my
father and was hardly ever used, only has 230 hours on it.

Would you say, the Knocking is emanating from the section of the Tractor that houses the Internal three point lift hydraulic pump ...AFT of the Transmission and FWD of the differential?

Hi, maybe a simple answer. Check the operation of the 3-point linkage and ensure that the Position Control lever is not in the Constant Pumping position. If it is, it might be causing the relief valve to blow.
