2610 with power shift transmission

I am going to post information that may help someone else then I'll ask my question.
I had a problem where I was bush hogging and the tractor quit pulling, the pro stopped turning and there was a terrible grinding noise coming from the transmission area. Push in on the clutch the noise quit. I seperated the front end at the bell housing. The clutch components looked good. Then I seperated the clutch housing from the transmission case. I removed the 5 bolts holding the power shift pump the cap came off but the body of the pump didn't want to come off so I thought it might be part of the center plate. So I tried to remove the center plate. I got it to break loose but not come off. Then a neighbor came over and said he thought the pump should come off so we hit it at the base with a chisel and a hammer and it broke free. Then I found the source of my problem it is the pump shaft and coupler. The coupler stripped.
My question:
Since I broke the center plate loose and messed up the gasket. How do I get the center plate off? Do I have to pull the transmission? I'm so ------ at myself cause I didn't know what I was doing and broke it loose then find out the PSP did come off the front of the center plate. I would be great if I had figured that out before messing up the gasket on the center plate.

Looking at your picture would indicate that coupler never recieves lube. If that is correct I would sure grease it good before installing. Have you been able to find a replacement coupler and shaft?

Well as I thought the PSP pump shaft and coupler are not available new. I did find a used one for $575.00 no one else could find one cheaper. They are very hard to find. Also the clutch main shaft is no longer available a used one is $250.00. I am going to reuse mine.

The problem with the powershift pump shaft is that you ruin a complete powershift pump if you remove it. Or you can price the pump & shaft as a complete unit like we do.

I understand. I wasn't complaining about having to by a pump I was just stating that it had to be bought as a unit and is no longer available. Also they hard hard to find. I am worried now though about other parts becoming discontinued. I like my tractor but if something else happens I don't want to have to think about selling it as a parts tractor because I can't find the part needed for repairs. It is my understanding that the clutch main shaft recently have been discontinued and that concerns me. Maybe I go overboard but I was going to change my main shaft because I am sure after all these years it has and it appears to have slight wear, but after I ordered it I received a call back telling me it was unavailable and they didn't have a used one. But if I'm going to have to use a used one I will just put the old one back. The way I am is its a lot of work to do to use used parts that you hope last once you get it back together. That's just me. I will probably sale it once I get it back together and make sure its operating correctly. I am looking at other tractors now. It's a shame cause I loved my tractor. Just uneasy about it now.

The 2610 is overall a very well supported tractor. You just happened to break a part that is unique to only a few tractors and does not break often so no one has started reproducing it yet.

We are constantly developing new parts once they get discontinued. That part happens to be one of those parts that just got dropped by another supplier and we are starting to work on. I have a powershift pump shaft for another tractor currently being manufactured (in the USA) and the shaft for the 2610 is also on the list to be made soon after. It is just bad timing.

Well that sounds promising. i didn't understand how it worked after parts were discontinued that y'all could get them made somewhere else. I hope nothing else happens, but If it does it's good to know that parts are still available. Thanks for your response. I think I will hold on to my tractor.

Aaron I'm not sure if you got the message when I called about the 5 seal rings that go on the clutch shaft but, the gasket I ordered labeled PSPG-4310 actually doesn't fit the power shift pump. It fits the oil manifold which mounts over the clutch shaft. PSPG-2210 looks like the gasket for the PSP pump to the center plate.

I didn't get the message but I do see what you are saying on the gasket. I'm not sure why they are labeled pump gaskets. I have corrected the description and picture though and am sorry for the inconvenience.
