Hi all,

I am replacing my JD 2630 (1974) tach, I put a cheapo import in a few years ago....a mistake. It didn't fit correctly 1st off, and failed after only 200 hours...any recommendations? Deere apparently quit making them, I see aftermarket replacements starting at $35.00 up to $200.00.

TIA for any recommendations.
Happy New Year!

On my 2440 I peeled back the rim, built the broken teeth up on the plastic gear, filed them into shape, rolled the numbers back to zero and put it back together.

It was working for 3000 hours when I got rid of the tractor.

I second Cliffs suggestion, Evergreen Restoration Inc. Terry, Wisconsin 715-520-7876. You can send it out and have your old tach repaired. Bobs speedometer, Missouri 800-592-9673. Star speedometer, Florida 866-258-3217. Both do a good job.
