My 2 lever control valves on a JD 145 loader are going bad (sticking), I'm thinking of going with a joy stick replacement. Any recommendations of where to begin my search?

You need a closed center valve, or one that can be converted to closed center valve by installing an optional plug. The valve should be equal to or exceed the flow rating of your main pump (9.5 GPM or 18.5 GPM depending on which pump your 2630 has). If you change valves and you have any thoughts of adding a third function this will be the time to do it, even if you just plug the third function valve ports for now.

Your current valve likely has a detent float position for the lift when you push the lift handle fully forward to drop the lift, and you will want to see that the new valve has that. Some valve advertised as loader valves do not have that feature, so they are actually just directional valves. You will need to look at the thread size and types of your current hoses and may need adapters to connect to a new valve if you don't find one with matching threads.

Surplus Center, Summit Hydraulics and Baum Hydraulics are a few places to check with. Prince is a known name in valves.

As far as the valves "sticking" go ahead and replace them, if you want, on the other hand such problems usually stem from moisture and rust on the return spring area opposite where the levers attach to the valve spools.

Some disassembly cleaning, and lube there should loosen 'em up.

A visit to a Deere dealer will get you the proper control valve for your tractor and it will bolt on with no problems.

I suggest checking with Surplus Center, Bailey Hyd, Summit Hyd, Baum Hyd or similar hyd parts supply business for a hyd control valve. JD just outsources their hyd valve from a similar hyd company then adds their profit to the cost of the valve. Be sure to get a hyd valve that a closed center conversion plug can be installed.
