2640 hyd issue

I bought a 2640 with a hi-low powershift last month to feed cattle. It works great... most of the time... every once and a while it loses all hydraulics...even steering. Hydraulics start working again after a minute or so. Have already changed the oil, filter and checked the screenand it still acts up. Any ideas?

The most common issue is a "high pressure leak to sump" caused by failed o-rings in the rockshaft valve. At start up look into the rockshaft housing through the filler opening toward the front. An oil spray stream or fog indicates a leak.
The rockshaft will need to come off to access the valve

I will look into that. What confuses me is it works good for 5 days then throws a fit and is good for a few days. It gets used for 2 hours every morning and a half hour at night
