2675 planitary

i have a recently purchased 2675 with a bad planitary set. we were told before we bought it a shaft from a standard 8 speed could be used to eliminate the multi power. my question is, 1 is this true. 2 are they available aftermarket or am i limited to finding a used one. and 3 if they are available would anyone know the part number.. all help is greatly appreciated

I think you were misinformed.The shaft alone won't do it. You will need the whole input section. And I would speculate that a salvage yard would be your best option

the tractor was bought at salvage price and other than the planitary is in great shape,with low hours. even a fairly expensive repair would be worth the money.. does anyone have any ideas on what a good used planitary set would go for. thank you.

They will be fairly hard to come by and not real cheap. Make sure it fits a 6 cylinder not a V8. The input shaft on a 6 is longer.

There was a 8 speed kit that was still in the parts system as of two years ago. Go to a good Massey dealer and ask.It was not cheap but still the way to go if the rest of the tractor is good.
