27 Foot Case Combine Header - 1950

Well, ok - it did take THREE combines to get 27 feet in 1950! This photo was taken in August 1950 by my father. These are three brand-new SP9 combines at Henry Brothers Case dealership in Perrysburg Ohio ready for delivery to customers. I have a memory of taking a ride with my Dad on an SP9 in 1968 or 1969 - a trade-in machine he used to test a wheat field to see if it was ready (and, I suppose, to have a little fun running one of the old machines!).
The second photo is one of the combines with Deloy (Dutch) and John (Jack) Henry, my great-uncle and grandfather.

Wow, don't they look great when they were brand spankin new!! Have a brand new nos unloading auger tube for a SP9 or SP12!! There were a couple SP12 combines in our neighborhood when I was a kid.

Neat! I have one of those. Would like to find one or two more parts machines. Anybody know why the air intake is white on the two machines with recleaners? Maybe a fabric cover/filter? My SP-12 and 120 both have recleaners but just the wire screened inlet.

Brad in my service manual for these machines it talks about the "sack" for the inlet screen I will have to do some looking to find the refferance but yes like you guessed it was for fine dust removal a early "precleaner" cnt

These were sold to three separate family farmers, all in Wood County (just South of Toledo) in Northwest Ohio. It sure would be nice to have one of them today. Parts just might be a little hard to find though . . .

Great pics. That must have been the early version of the flex heads. LOL We went directly from the A6s and 77s the 600 combines. There was only one SP here in the area.

Wow,this picture is right down Brad's alley!
This is a great picture,I can imagine how excited the Dealer was,let alone the customers.
Thanks for the great picture and post
If you got more, keep them coming!
