I bought a 2705 massey and not sure how to adjust the lift arms close together to use on smaller implements. I think I need to take something off but not sure.

Had a 2805, didn"t use smaller implements. It came with Cat 3 pins so it was made for Large implements. Can"t remember how close the arms came together but I think the physical measurements prohibit using smaller implements. Maybe you can "farmer" something to work.

Well, there are 1 1/2" spacers bolted to each lift arm. I don"t know if they could or should be removed. Or how much they would gain me if I removed them.
The reason I haven"t just took them off to see if it would work, is because the tractor came with a homemade scissor type hay fork that is pretty handy but also extremely heavy and kind of in the way. I don"t want to have to try to put it back on by myself. And feeding hay right now isn"t optional.
I need to do a little bushhogging and it sure would be nice from inside a heated cab. A six foot bush hog is gonna look kind of funny on that tractor though. By the way I know it is not heavy enough for that tractor but I"m just gonna clip some small persimmon sprouts and ragweed stalks.
