does anybody know the back lash measurement for the rear ring and pinion gear of a 2750 tractor i would like to know if there is a min and max clearance

The manual specifies .012 inch of backlash. At no point in the circumference should the backlash be less than .009 inch, nor greater than .015 inch.
This is done AFTER the pinion shaft is properly located and adjusted and AFTER the differential bearings have been adjusted to -.001 to -.006 inch preload.

There are more than just those lash adjustments.1-800-522-7448 for a real JD service manual at wholesale price. It's cheaper than over looking one little thing and doing the job over again.
